This example of a magnetic field design required us to carry out time-dependent 3D Finite Element analysis. This is because our cleint needed not only to produce a defined magnetic field strength, but also the rise and fall time of the magnetic field were also crucial. The image above shows some of the construction of the problem while the arrows show the magnitude and direction of the resulting magnetic field.
